The land of the Free, Prepared by the Lord–
How a Utopian society (ZION) will come out of it – An historical perspective by a praying physicist who also loves history in the light of the TRUTHs of God by The
world hopes for a utopian society. While
they hope, Jesus is doing everything necessary to bring it about.
Such a society (ZION) will come as sure as night follows day, and we can
be part of it. America, this land
of the free, was prepared by the Lord as a fundamental beginning for this
utopian society called ZION to be established.
The foundations of liberty, which are essential in a ZION society, were
laid out by our inspired founding documents – except for the issue of slavery,
which Lincoln later resolved. These
foundations are eroding rapidly as our government has moved away from the
Declaration of Independence and our Constitution.
Furthermore, the minds of modern Americans, for the most part, do not
have the values of our founders nor do they appreciate the incredible price paid
for liberty to give us this land of the liberty.
Over the entrance of the Norlin Library in Boulder, Colorado is a famous
quote by George Norlin: “Who knows only his own generation remains always a
child.” Let us learn from some
very important messages from American history.
The better we can view history from the Lord’s perspective, the better
we will know who we are and how we can help the cause of TRUTH to move forward
toward a ZION society and to bless the lives of all who are willing to receive
this most important message of joy and gladness in the midst of the storms of
life. Now,
science and religion are at odds; as an eye opening example of this, see the
documentary DVD Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed; wherein, professors
are expelled, denied tenure, or lose their jobs for teaching creationism – in
America with freedom of speech. This
should not be. If truth is true,
then the truths of science should harmonize with the truths of God. They
are for me as a physicist. As carbon dated by scientist, about 200 AD there was
a very large civilization in North America that had science and religion fully
integrated, and they were living in peace with no wars among them.

It seems they were way ahead of us today.
They lost that magnificence in civil strife; let us learn from that
lesson as well. The Book of Mormon
tells the religious dimension of their story. (See 4 Nephi in the Book of
Mormon) These ancient civilizations
knew this was a land of promise and a land of Liberty above all other nations.
It would be the place where the Lord would build up this utopian society
(Zion). In
the poignant poem by George Santayana, he portrays how Columbus discovered
America: O
world, thou choosest not the better part! It
is not wisdom to be only wise, And
on the inward vision close the eyes, But
it is wisdom to believe the heart. Columbus
found a world, and had no chart, Save
one that faith deciphered in the skies; To
trust the soul’s invincible surmise Was
all his science and his only art. Much
of the information below takes advantage of the research of Timothy Ballard in
his excellent book, The American Covenant.
He has collected an extraordinary set of historical vignettes. Pastor
John Robinson, speaking to the Pilgrims just before they set sail for America
prophetically proclaimed: “Now as the people of God in old time were called
out of Babylon civil, the place of their bodily bondage, and were to come to
Jerusalem, and there to build the Lord’s temple... so are the people of God
now to go out of Babylon spiritual to Jerusalem (America)... and to build
themselves as lively stones into a spiritual house, or temple, for the Lord to
dwell in.. For we are the sons and daughters of Abraham by faith.” Native
American Indian, Squanto, was raised up by the Lord and stayed with the Pilgrims
their first year teaching them how to raise corn, to hunt, and to fish.
As William Bradford said of him that he was a “special instrument sent
of God” to save their lives. Similarly,
Indian chief Massasoit welcomed the Pilgrims as friends – extending
providential care. Then
we have the famous Mayflower Compact written in 1620: “In the name of
God, Amen... Having, undertaken for the glory of God, and Advancement of the
Christian faith... a Voyage to plant the first colony... do by these Presents,
solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and of one another, covenant and
combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick for our better Ordering,
and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid.” Puritan
Jonathan Edwards prophetically proclaimed, “God presently goes about doing
some great thing in order to make way for the introduction of the church’s
latter-day glory – which is to have its first seat in, and is to rise from
[this] new world.” They named one
of their communities “Salem,” which translated from the Hebrew means
“peace.” Samuel Sewall of Salem
declared that America was to be the host nation of the “New Jerusalem.”
He further believed that the American Indians were “Israelites
unawares.” In
1631, Roger Williams, as part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, left his First
Baptist Church ministry proclaiming, “There is no regularly constituted church
on earth, nor any person qualified to administer any church ordinances; nor can
there be until new apostles are sent by the Great Head of the Church for whose
coming I am seeking.” In
1755, during the French and Indian War, George Washington, who headed up the
battle at Monongahela, was fighting against one of the great Indian Chiefs,
Grand Sachem, where Washington later explained, “...death leveling my
companions on every side of me...” Over
half of his troops were killed. “...by
the miraculous care of Providence, that protected me beyond human expectations;
I had four bullets through my coat, and two horses shot from under me, and yet
escaped unhurt.” As the Father of
our Country, the Lord had yet a great work for him to do. Fifteen
years later, this same Chief meet Washington – years before Washington became
famous – and said, “I am a chief and ruler over many tribes... I have
traveled the long and weary path of the wilderness road that I might once again
look upon the young warrior [Washington] of the great battle. [During the
battle] I called my young men and said [pointing to Washington], ‘Mark you
tall and daring warrior! He is not
of the redcoat tribe, he is of the Long knives.
He has an Indian’s wisdom. Let
your aim be certain and he dies.’ I,
who can bring the leaping squirrel from the top of the highest tree with a
single shot, fired at this warrior more times than I have fingers.
Our bullets killed his horse, knocked the war bonnet from his head,
pierced his clothes, but ‘twas in vain; a Power mightier far than we shielded
him from harm. The Great Spirit
protects that man and guides his footsteps through the trails of life.
He will become the chief of many nations, and when the sun is setting on
the remaining few of my people and the game has departed from our forests and
streams, a people yet unborn will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire.
I have spoken.” Washington
responded, “Our destinies are shaped by a mighty Power, and we can but strive
to be worthy of what the Great Spirit holds in store for us...
If I must needs have such lot in life as our Red Brother presages, then I
pray that the Great Spirit give unto me those qualities of fortitude, courage,
and wisdom possessed by our Red Brother. I,
the friend of the Indian, have spoken.” In
the year of the famous Declaration of Independence, 1776, Thomas Paine
succinctly said, “We have it in our power to begin the world over again.
A situation, similar to the present, hath not happened since the days of
Noah until now.” Then we have the
immortal words in the Declaration of Independence inspired by the pen of Thomas
Jefferson, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created
equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
At the conclusion of the eight year war, which logically we should not
have won being outnumbered 10 to1 and lacking most of the necessities to fight
the strongest military force on the planet, George Washington, the General of
our Army, simple summed up why we won the Revolutionary War, “Divine
intervention.” After
the war and as this nation was being born, Washington said: May
the same wonder-working Deity, who long since delivered the Hebrews from their
Egyptian oppressors, planted them in a promised land, whose providential agency
has lately been conspicuous in establishing these United States as an
independent nation, still continue to water them with the dews of Heaven and
make the inhabitants of every denomination participate in the temporal and
spiritual blessing of that people whose God is Jehovah. Washington’s
mother upon her death bed reportedly said to her son, “Go, George, fulfill the
high destinies which Heaven appears to have intended for you.”
Abigail Adams said of Washington, “Mark his majestic fabric.
He’s a temple sacred from his birth and built by hands divine.”
Washington said, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without
God and the Bible.” The
feeling at that time is profoundly evidenced in a speech given by the President
of Yale University, Ezra Stiles, in 1783 – the year America officially gained
independence: God
determined that a remnant should be saved... recovered and gathered... from the
nations whither the Lord had scattered them in his fierce anger... and multiply
them over their fathers – and rejoice over them for good, as he rejoiced over
their fathers. Then the words of
Moses... of Abraham shall be nationally collected, and become a very
distinguished and glorious people under the Great Messiah, the Prince of Peace.
He will then make them “high above all nations which he hath made in
praise, and in name, and in honor,” and they shall become “a holy people
unto the Lord” their God. Now,
given the devolution of American morals and the secular influence on religious
beliefs in our universities and amongst our government leaders, we cannot even
imagine that in our time such a talk would be given by the President of any
university in America – they having turned from values of our founders and the
God of this land, the Great Jehovah. A
vital historic perspective most do not know is that the Lord prepared this land
of liberty for the restoration of the fullness of His gospel, for the
establishment of Zion, and to prepare a people for His glorious Second Coming.
The Lord’s Church and Kingdom had been lost during the dark ages, and
there was a fundamental need for them to be restored in this land of the free.
In the early 1,800s, living in Sainsbury, Connecticut was a man named
Robert Mason. In his community, he
was known as Father Mason because of his saintly nature and great faith.
He had a vision of this restoration of the fullness of the gospel, which
he shared with the young lad, Wilfred Woodruff: ...the
voice of the Lord came to me saying, “Son of man, thou hast sought me
diligently to know the truth concerning my Church and Kingdom among men.
This is to show you that my Church is not organized among men in the
generation in which you belong; but in the days of your children the Church and
Kingdom of God shall be made manifest with all the gifts and the blessings
enjoyed by the Saints in past ages. You
shall... not partake of its blessings before you depart this life.
You will be blest of the Lord after death because you followed the
dictation of my Spirit in this life. Then
to Wilfred he said, “I shall never partake of this fruit in the flesh, but you
will and you will become a conspicuous actor in the new Kingdom.”
Wilfred Woodruff became one of the Twelve Apostles as part of the
restoration and later the fourth President of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. Using
experimentation, science uses the five senses to ascertain truth, which truths
change with time as more is learned. In
1820, Joseph Smith, Jr. opened to the world the sixth sense to know the TRUTHs
of God, which are eternal and do not change.
He then had his enormous epiphany, in which the Father and the Son
appeared to him commencing the dispensation of the fullness of times in
preparation for the Lord’s coming again to the earth.
James 1:5-6 is literally true and Joseph proved it using experimentation
with the sixth sense. This began
the “restoration of all things” prophesied by Peter and Paul, and opened the
door to all of us to bask in the light of TRUTH. (Acts 3:18-21; Eph. 1:10,
respectively) The enormity of this “First Vision” of the Prophet Joseph is
yet to be appreciated by the world. In
the fullness of the gospel restored is the vital TRUTH that each of us can come
to know the Lord on a personal basis as Joseph did, which is eternal life –
the greatest of all the gifts of God. (John 17:3; Doctrine & Covenants 14:7;
93:1) In
the same year (1820), Thomas Jefferson had the following perspective.
As a humorous aside, President John F. Kennedy one time had several Nobel
Prize laureates with him in the oval office.
He said to them, “There is about as much intelligence in this room now
as there was when Thomas Jefferson was here alone.”
The contributions of Jefferson to this land of liberty are enormous.
The following quote is one of his great insights: I
hold the precepts of Jesus, as delivered by himself, to be the most pure,
benevolent, and sublime which have ever been preached to man.
I adhere to the principles of the first age; and consider all subsequent
innovations as corruptions of this religion, having no foundation in what came
from him... if the freedom of religion, guaranteed to us by law in theory, can
ever rise in practice under the overbearing inquisition of public opinion, truth
will prevail over fanaticism, and the genuine doctrines of Jesus, so long
perverted by his psuedo-priests, will again be restored to their original
purity. This reformation will
advance with the other improvements of the human mind, but too late for me to
witness. One
of the most beautiful dimensions of the restoration through the Prophet Joseph
Smith is to understand history in the context of Heavenly Father’s grand plan
of happiness for His children, and why He created the earth and the inhabitants
thereof in the first place. Those
who study history from a secular point of view only, as is traditionally done,
miss much in true historical perspective and the significance of many events
that change the course of history as part of Father’s grand plan, such as when
the Savior came to earth the first time. The
restoration of the fullness of the gospel is another historic irony.
Joseph only had a 3rd grade education, but has done more than
any other man save Jesus only for the salvation of Father’s children.
One of beautiful truths clarified by the restoration is the importance of
“free choice” (agency) being the heart of Father’s plan with the natural
and necessary consequence of “opposition in all things” – explaining
pleasure and pain, good and evil, etc. (2 Nephi 2 in the Book of Mormon explains
this doctrine profoundly) With
the background of the restoration, one can appreciate a grand historic chiasmus
– covering 5,000 years of history in one sentence from the Savior in which He
said, “...the first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” (Matt
19:30) This is explained in 2 Nephi
13:42 and in Jacob 5. The first
is the House of Israel, who was given prophets and the gospel; the record and
history of which comprises much of the Old Testament.
When the House of Israel rejected the prophets and the Savior, the gospel
was taken from them and given to the Gentiles (Matt. 21:43), who became the last.
The record and history of which comprises much of the New Testament.
With the Gentiles rejection of the prophets and teachings of the Savior,
as evidenced by the Great Apostasy and the dark ages, the Lord prepared this
“Land of Liberty,” as a place for the restoration of Apostles and Prophets
and the pure teachings of the Savior to this Gentile nation – making it the last
(the Gentiles) who became the first as part of the “restitution of all
things” that will precede the Second Coming. (Acts 3:19-21) The records and
history associated with these events are the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and
Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. Now,
the Lord gives us a sign: “when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and
shall reject the fulness of my gospel...,” “...then will I remember my
covenant, which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel...” and “I
will bring the fulness of my gospel... unto them.”
Then the first will become the last, which is the last
major step in preparation for the Second Coming and which will take us into the
millennium. A major part of this
last step is the preparing the Bride to meet the Bridegroom, as beautifully
portrayed in Revelations 19. This
will be the Zion society (a pure in heart people of one mind and one heart with
no poor among them) that are prepared to meet the Lord at his coming.
The record and history of this last epoch are yet to come forth,
but we can be as sure of it as we are of the occurrence of that which has
transpired. Indeed, historically,
we now live in one of the most exciting times ever.
Prophecy is more accurate than history books, because the former comes
from the Lord. We can be just as
sure that Babylon the great will fall (the wickedness of the world) in our day
as described in Revelations 17 and 18. Our
choice is to be Christ centered and to come totally out of Babylon to be His
Bride, or to be otherwise and to fall with “the whore... THE MOTHER OF
HARLOTS” and be destroyed. A
very interesting book documenting the Great Apostasy, as we move from the last
becoming the first, is Will the Real Heretics Please Stand Up by
David W. Bercot. He documents that
current Christianity is more influenced by the doctrines and teachings of St.
Augustine than by the teachings of Christ as compared with the beliefs of the
early Christians. Jefferson
similarly stated, The
religion-builders have so distorted and deformed the doctrines of Jesus, so
muffled them in mysticisms, fancies and falsehoods, have caricatured them into
forms so monstrous and inconceivable as to shock reasonable thinkers... Happy in
the prospect of a restoration of primitive Christianity, I must leave to
younger athletes to encounter and lop off the false branches which have been
engrafted into it by mythologists of the middle and modern ages. Another
book with profound insights shows historically how the Church and “fulness of
the gospel” as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith have been modified by
worldly influence. It is called Passing
the Heavenly Gift by Denver Snuffer, Jr.
This book documents where we are now as the first is becoming the last,
as the Gentiles reject the fullness of the gospel.
Statistically, it is interesting to note that the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints has grown phenomenally up until the last two decades, since
the six members started it by revelation in 1830 (D&C 20).
Over the last two decades, the per capita Church membership in the US has
been flat at about 1.4%. The
influence of secularism (Babylon) on the members is quite apparent.
Many members, especially males and many of them returned missionaries are
now leaving the Church – deceived by the world and its secular view of
religion. Interestingly, Denver’s
book has been bringing some of them back into the fold.
Darwinian
evolution has almost totally infiltrated our education system at all levels –
creating an enormous bias against God and Christian-Judeo morality.
It is interesting that Darwin was a contemporary of the Prophet Joseph
Smith raised up by the adversary in opposition to the truths coming forth in the
restoration of the fullness of the gospel.

) More recently Dr. Stephen C.
Meyer in his book, Signature in the Cell, has scientifically proven
Divine design in the DNA (see http://www.allanstime.com/Spiritual/TRUTH_vs_truth.htm
) and again disproving Darwinian evolution. In
spite of the Divine evidence to the contrary, the secular view of evolved man
prevails with serious moral decline as a consequence.
Our great country is moving toward atheism, secularism, and socialism.
If there were no Adam and Eve and a fall, then there is no need for an
atonement. Hence, Darwinian
evolution is actually anti-Christ. We
started out as a Christian nation, but have moved far from that as a result of
the ever increasing secular influence in our society.
More and more people are worshiping the mind of man and the works of
men’s hands rather than God. (D&C 1:14-16).
Sports and games have become our American Sabbath activities.
Who has the most toys seems to be one of the main games, and pornography
is a major addiction problem. The
family, which is the fundamental unit of society in time and eternity, is under
attack from every direction. Moroni
saw this coming and proclaimed to Joseph Smith, when he told him about the Book
of Mormon coming forth, that the day would come when those who would not hear
nor heed the voice of the Son of God would be cut off at His coming. (JS-H 40)
Given that the great Deceiver is having so much success, the scripture in JS-M
37 is of enormous value: “And whoso treasureth up my word, shall not be
deceived, for the Son of Man shall come, and he shall send his angels before him
with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together the remainder
of his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
In other words, during this purging time that is coming, as we focus
totally on Christ and His teachings, we are promised that we will not be
deceived. And further more He says:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon you, and
learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your
souls.” (Matt. 11:28-30) And this He will do in the midst of the purging ahead
if we totally come unto Him. He
will gather those who truly come unto Him as a hen gathers her chicks under her
wing. (D&C 29:1-2) Moroni
further warned us of our day in the Book of Mormon (Ether 8:18-26) that
“when” not “if” we see “secret combinations” come among us, we need
to “awake to [our] awful situation” that these may not get “above” us.
The New World Order (NWO), promulgated by Satan, in its many facets fits
Moroni’s description in the detail, and yet most do not have a clue.
Many in high places are part of the NWO as is much of the media.
As Moroni says, they are caught up with “pride” and the NWO is about
“control,” “power,” and “gain.”
The US constitution and the principles of liberty and freedom upon which
this country are built are in opposition to the NWO agenda.
They are doing their best to take these things down. As
an example, in 1910 seven men gathered incognito in the ruse of a duck hunt on
Jekyll Island off the coast of Georgia. These
seven men represented 1/4 of the world’s wealth.
There they designed the Federal Reserve System.
Three years later it was (with illegally legislation) put in place in the
US government – giving the big banks control of our money system.
This is well documented in the book by Griffin, A Creature from Jekyll
Island. Another
devastating example of NWO activity is 9/11.
Now, it has been scientifically documented that the twin-towers could not
have been brought down by the airplanes hitting the Towers.
In addition, Building-7 fell at near free fall velocities with no
airplane hitting it as would happen in control demolition.
The Twin-towers came down the same way.
When super-thermite was found at a level of 0.1% in the dust of all three
buildings, this gave a direct explanation of why the buildings fell as they did.

. It seems that the NWO folks
wanted the American public to believe that our war attacks on Iraq and
Afghanistan were defensive because of the terrible terrorists, when in fact they
were offensive with many other hidden agendas.
In large measure their massive deceit perpetrated by “secret
combinations” has been successful. More
recently, since 2003, there have been eight congressional attempts to modify the
constitution so that the president would not have to be natural born.
All of these failed. Having
groomed Barack Obama for President, they had to go forward with his pseudo birth
certificate – holding him up as a natural born citizen. The
folks on the far left groomed him to be President, as Trevor Loudon documents in
his book, Barack Obama and the Enemies
Within, and shares in his talks across the country.
The goal of these far left folks is to take down America.
If America is righteous, they will not have the power to do that, but I
have grave concerns with how far America has moved from her Christian based and
inspired beginnings. Repentance is

If everyone knew what was really going on, “we could win the day” and
turn our country around. We could
regain the liberty and freedoms that we have lost because we have turned from
values of our founders and from God as a nation.
We could become again a happy, prosperous, and independent, sovereign
nation as we turn back to God “and live,” – realizing the blessings
promised by our countries founding documents.
In our Declaration of independence we read, “We
hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they
are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these
are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

one sees the world spiraling down, one may lose heart, but this is exactly what
the adversary wants us to feel. When
we know who is really in charge, we take heart; our hope and faith build in Him
who will allow the wicked to destroy the wicked as they dig their own pit.
He will pull out the wheat from among the tares.
He will prepare a glorious Bride to meet Him (the Bridegroom).
A marvelous book in that regard is Beloved Bridegroom by Donna B.
Nielsen. It, along with the
scriptures, is very motivational to move us to full repentance and to be part of
the Bride. He has lovingly extended
that invitation to each of us. As
the scriptures so profoundly teach us, we will not “be cut-off at His
coming” if we hear and heed His voice. We
will hear and heed His voice as we love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind,
and strength (Mark 12:30) and our neighbors as ourselves.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Let us help as many as we can to come to know of the Father’s love and
of His Beloved Son’s (the Bridegroom) and to drink deeply of this love, which
is most desirable to the soul and will bring a fullness of joy.
There is not a more important message for the human family.
How grateful we should be for the privilege of living in this incredible
epoch as we prepare for the Lord’s glorious coming. The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s Church restored by
Him to be a vehicle to bring us to Christ and to prepare for His glorious
return. The Lord used the Prophet
Joseph Smith to bring forth the fullness of the gospel and a “marvelous work
and a wonder” as prophesied in Isaiah 29.
As prophesied by the Savior, “when the Gentiles... shall reject the
fulness of my gospel..., then...I will bring the fulness of my gospel...unto
them (O house of Israel).” At
that day, which is now, “If the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, saith
the Father, behold they shall be numbered among my people, O hours of Israel.”
As the first becomes the last, the Lord will work an even greater
“marvelous work and a wonder” as also prophesied by the Savior in 3 Nephi
21. All the prophets looked forward
to our day and we are privileged to be part of it.
Nephi prophesied of a great division (2 Nephi 30:10), and the Lord said,
“upon my house shall it begin,...” (D&C 112:25)
The purging will be from top to bottom as prophesied by Zenos (Jacob
5:61-66), as the wicked are destroyed and the “humble followers of Christ”
are pulled out if they are not deceived by the precepts of men (2 Nephi 28:14). And
then cometh the New Jerusalem [in this Land of the Free]; and blessed are they
who dwell therein, for it is they whose garments are white through the blood of
the Lamb; and they are they who are numbered among the remnant of the seed of
Joseph, who were of the house of Israel. And
then also cometh the Jerusalem of old; and the inhabitants thereof, blessed are
they, for they have been washed in the blood of the Lamb; and they are they who
were scattered and gathered in from the four quarters of the earth, and from the
north countries, and are partakers of the fulfilling of the covenant which God
made with their father, Abraham. (Ether 13:10-12) Let
us rejoice in this great epoch in which we live as we come totally out of
Babylon and center our lives in Christ that we “shall not be deceived” (JS-M
37), and rejoice with as many as will “hear [and heed] His voice” as we
become part of the family of Christ – His Bride.
He will bring forth a “new heaven and a new earth” at the beginning
of the millennium, as the earth goes from telestial to terrestrial, as well as
at the end when the earth goes from terrestrial to celestial and the Savior
delivers His kingdom unto the Father. (Rev. 21:1; Ether 13:9; D&C 29:22-23)
There we will receive all that the Father hath and a fullness of joy in the
order of heaven, which is eternal family. His
is the perfect plan of Happiness. Let
us rejoice in it and share it at every opportunity – a message of gladness in
